Understanding the Potential Benefits
Some parents choose placenta encapsulation because they report personal experiences such as improved postpartum well-being, energy, mood, or milk supply. However, scientific evidence supporting the health benefits of consuming encapsulated placenta is limited, and these potential benefits are based largely on personal and anecdotal experiences. Individual experiences vary, and no specific benefit or outcome can be guaranteed.
Placenta encapsulation also carries potential risks, including exposure to harmful bacteria or other contaminants if the placenta is contaminated or inadequately processed. Preparation does not guarantee the elimination of all pathogens.
We encourage every client to make an informed decision and discuss placenta consumption with their healthcare provider, particularly when there are medical concerns involving the parent or baby.
Safety and Contraindications
Placenta encapsulation is not appropriate in every situation. Your health and safety come first.
Encapsulation may not be recommended when there are concerns regarding contamination, improper storage, certain infections or illnesses, placental pathology, or other circumstances that could make the placenta unsuitable for consumption.
If there are any concerns surrounding your delivery, infection, medications, placenta handling, storage, or your health or your baby's health, please disclose them before preparation. When appropriate, you may be advised to speak with your physician, midwife, or other qualified healthcare provider before proceeding.
Placenta capsules should not replace medical treatment, prescribed medication, appropriate nutrition, or professional postpartum care.
Our Preparation Method
We offer the Traditional Method of placenta preparation, inspired by Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) principles surrounding warmth, restoration, and nourishment during the postpartum period.
The placenta is prepared, steamed, thoroughly dehydrated, ground into a fine powder, and placed into capsules.
Strict sanitation, food-handling, storage, and preparation procedures are followed throughout the process.

The number of capsules produced varies depending on the size of the placenta.
Pickup & Delivery
After your baby arrives, contact Honey & Halo Healing to arrange pickup.
Your placenta must be stored appropriately following birth and remain properly refrigerated or frozen until pickup. We will provide storage and transportation instructions before your due date so you know exactly what to do when the time comes.
Once preparation is complete, your finished capsules will be packaged and returned to you with care and storage instructions.
When Should I Book?
We recommend reserving your placenta encapsulation service during pregnancy, ideally before 36 weeks, so everything is organized before labour begins.
You don't need to know exactly when your baby will arrive. Once you're booked, simply contact us after delivery and we'll coordinate the next steps.
